Customer Registration
Barcodify - Customer Selector works on Shopify admin website; Shopify and Shopify POS mobile apps. There are multiple ways to link barcodes with customers via:
- "Search with barcode" action in the app, when the searched barcode is not yet associated with a customer
- "Add barcode" action in the app
- "Add barcode" Shopify admin customer details action

Customer Registration via "Search with barcode" app action
- Open the app.
- Click or tap on the search bar at the top of the page and type in or scan in a barcode.
Alternatively, if you're on Shopify or Shopify POS app, you can scan the barcode using a mobile device's camera - simply click or tap the barcode button on the right, next to the search bar.
- Assuming the scanned/typed-in barcode is not associated with a customer, you should quickly see "No customers found" view with a green "Add barcode" button. Click or tap the button.
- You should be redirected to the "Add barcode" page showing a list of customers. Filter the customers by name, phone number, email address or tag.
- Click or tap on the selected customer's tile, e.g. the customer named "paper winter", who currently has no barcode associated.
Tapping "View details" will open a new tab with customer details in Shopify admin.
- You should be redirected to the customer page. The barcode entered earlier should be auto-populated into the barcode text input field. Simply hit "Save".
If the "Add customer to cart on save" option is enabled, tapping "Save" automatically adds the customer to the POS cart and closes the app. If the option is disabled, saving returns back to the previous page with a list of customers. This option is only available on POS.
Customer Registration via "Add barcode" app action
If you already know a particular barcode is not associated with a customer, you can simply open the app and click or tap the "Add barcode" button at the top right. From there the steps are almost identical to 'Customer Registration via "Search with barcode" app action' above.
In this scenario, there's no barcode to auto-populate, so you would have to enter it in the barcode text input.

Alternatively, you can associate a barcode with a particular customer from Shopify admin customer details page via the "Add barcode" action.
Customer Search Using Barcodes
Customer registration is only required once per customer. Next time the registered customer shops in your store, you can simply open the app and enter the associated barcode as explained in step 2 of 'Customer Registration via "Search with barcode" app action', e.g.
in Shopify POS.
Tapping "View details" will open a new tab with customer details in Shopify admin. Tapping on the customer tile will add such a customer to the POS cart.
